He was a little hard to see at first, blending so well into the white landscape, the holly in his mane standing out in bright red and green.
The stallion didn't seem surprised to see you, almost as if he'd been waiting for you. You wondered if Norayan might have taken a shortcut, after making you sweat your way through the dense brush, and warned him of your pending arrival. He offered no greeting, but nor was he unwelcoming. To break the silence you finally ask his name.
"Isak."
Though he was smiling in an unthreatening manner, he wasn't exactly friendly either. Maybe he was just shy. Then with a gust of freezing wind that stole your breath away, the snow swirled up and obscured your view. When you'd managed to blink the last of the icy flakes out of your eyes, Isak had vanished.
