The Magical Herd

So you find yourself alone once agian. As the morning turned to midday, the humidity of the rainforest began to reach levels it hadn't up until then. You wondered how the leagi could stand it as sweat began to dribble down your back. You stop by a pool of water to splash some on your face to cool off.

You didn't notice her reflection at first, she was the colours of the forest itself. The green of the leaves, the black of the shadows, the brown of the earth. But then she moved and you looked up into her eyes.

"I'm sorry," she said, "I didn't mean to surprise you." She had a gentle expression, and seemed to be very sincere in her apology. You ask her name and she replies, "Farunna."

Though you prod her with more questions, she's become silent and refuses to speak. She was probably just extremely shy, but too polite to leave. Seeing as she was desperate to get away from there you look up at the trees, remark at how late it was getting and that you should really be moving along. She looks terribly relieved at you, and slips away herself before you have time to change your mind.
