The Magical Herd

"Hurt are you?" the stallion inquired.

You look up at his draconic head. You knew they were no more dangerous than any other leagus, but those eyes just had a slightly more sinister look than did those with feline or equine heads. You weren't entirely sure you wanted to admit you couldn't run, but then thining about it again, you realized you couldn't have outrun him in the best of health.

"Let me take a look at it, then."

You remove your boot and show him a bright red toe. He looked at it a moment then winced. A few moments later you realize why and quickly replace your boot, blushing madly at that rather unpleasant odor. You had after all been wearing those boots for several days now.

"Come, perhaps you would like to ride upon my back. I can take you to some warm mineral springs in which you can...ummm...relax your feet." At least he was kind enough not the mention the smell.

You ride upon his back a short distance, glad you didn't have to walk it even though it wasn't very far. Along the way he tells you his name is Efrek, and he was hoping to become a healer one day. He didn't sound quite so sure about that, perhaps after his first encounter with a real wound, it wasn't quite the glorious profession he'd thought it was.

He allows you to dismount near some stones where you sit and dip your feet into the water. It was a wonderful feeling and it certainly made your injured toe feel a lot better. You look up to thank him, but he was already gone.
